Hope week raises funds for Haiti, Moldova

Campus Fellowship hosted Hope Week March 2-5 to raise funds for victims of the Haitian earthquake and Moldova, the poorest country in Europe.

Funds raised will be divided between Lutheran World Relief, a nonprofit organization benefiting Haiti, and Wings of Hope International, a nonprofit organization founded by Alec Zama, assistant professor of business administration, benefiting Moldova.

Resident Hall Association named best in region

Grand View's Residence Hall Association (RHA) has been named the regional 2010-2011 Building RHA of the Year award.

The RHA board is made up of Amy Amy McNaul, Alicia Krones, Whitney Schlesselman, Katelyn Carlson, Michael Tallman, Jenny Parsons and Megan Croghan, who wrote and submitted a 35 page bid explaining how the universitiy's RHA has grown throughout the year.

Vikings net tournament bid

The men's basketball team is headed back to the national tournament after beating William Penn 85-71 to capture the MCC Tournament championship.

The number of college students who volunteer is up about 20 percent from 2002 to 2005, according to a study from the Corporation for National and Community Service.
