Leadership group works with alumni

The Advancement Student Leadership Team, a new leadership program this year, is designed to bring current students and Alumni together in efforts to help the Grand View community.

Music students end year with annual Soirée

The music department is closing out the school year with their annual Soirée at 7 p.m. April 16, in Stacks. This free, semi-formal concert offers a variety of musical genres for all tastes and a great way to end the semester.

Graduation features multiple ceremonies

Twelve seniors display best work at photo exhibit

Twelve seniors will be showcasing some of their best photos on April 23 from 5-7 p.m. in the Cowles Communication Building atrium.

The organizer of the event is Lyssa Wade, mass communication and photography senior. She said the attire for the event will be business casual and will mainly be for seniors to "showcase what we've done and worked hard on during our Grand View career.

Viking golfers host conference

The men's MCC conference golf meet will take place April 16-17 at Otter Creek in Ankeny, and the women's meet will take place April 18-19.

Hosting the conference meet at home for both men and women's golf gives them an advantage over their competition. Head coach Chris Winkel expects each team to perform well.

Bowling coach announced

Grand View University Athletic Director Troy Plummer announced Tuesday, in a press release on the athletic department's website, that Gary Gioffredi will be the head bowling coach for the Vikings.

"I am extremely excited that Gary Gioffredi has agreed to be the first head men's and women's bowling coach at Grand View," Plummer said.

Athletics ranked 23 in Learfield Sports Director's Cup

The winter athletic program finished 23 in the Learfield Sports Director's Cup standings. Vikings earned 277 points, marking the first time Grand View has ever finished in the top 25.

Men's and women's basketball, women's track and field and wrestling all had top 20 finishes.

Student balances comedian life, school

Making Some Changes

At the end of every school year there seems to be an overwhelming philosophy that every one is looking forward to "Out with the old, and in with the new." The Grand Views is no different.
I happen to be in the 'new' category. I will be taking over for Erin Newbury as the web editor for the 2010-2011 school year.
